The PCGB Sim Racing paddock made a welcome return to California’s Laguna Seca for rounds 3 & 4 of the championship. The competition in Pro class proved to be tighter than ever with the top 15 cars in qualifying separated by eight-tenths of a second, with 11Tenths driver Mark Baxter-Jones qualifying 4th with teammate Johnny Elia just three tenths back in 14th.
That was as good as it got for the 11Tenths drivers in Race 1, however. An eventful first few laps saw Baxter-Jones run off track and drop through the field whilst teammate Elia engaged in numerous battles but finished where he started in 14th.
Luck is a fickle thing and so it proved in Race 2. Baxter-Jones, starting 11th, made up for a disappointing first race by moving through the field into 2nd place. Elia, on the other hand, took a hard hit that took him out of the race on lap 2.
