We saw 26 teams in two classes take on 500 miles of Road Atlanta for the FTR Events Peach State 500, and it was a rollercoaster of a ride for the 11.Tenths team! The event got off to a great start as Mark Baxter-Jones put the 11.Tenths car on pole with a 1:22.578, a tenth quicker than the championship leaders, FTR eSports Black.

At the start of the race Johnny Elia took the first stint and was running P2 until a tap from the Vulcan team dropped the 11.Tenths car down to the back of the pack. Fortunately no damage was taken and over the remainder of the stint Elia brought the car back up to 5th place.

Swapping drivers and with the track temperature climbing, the team decided to take new tyres for the second stint which allowed them to crawl further up the field to get closer to the front runners. But it wasn’t long until their luck ran out as the team were caught out during their second pitstop with a stop and go penalty for speeding in the pit lane.

Further misfortune continued later in the race as Colin Wynn was taken out by an impatient GT3 driver, and during the next stint Johnny Elia misjudged his turn-in on a very hot track and spun the car into the path of oncoming traffic, damaging the car.

Thankfully the damage was minimal and Mark Baxter-Jones was back in the seat for the last stint and was able to neutralise any threat from behind and bring the car home to finish 6th place in the GT-S class.
